|Quartz Reef Wines is the original pioneering vineyard in the Bendigo grape growing sub region of Central Otago.
We produce premium Methode Traditionnelle, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir wines from the beautiful sun drenched single estate Bendigo vineyard situated at the head of Lake Dunstan. One of only six vineyards in New Zealand to be Demeter certified Biodynamic.
Rudi Bauer, the winemaker, believes in growing perfect grapes to produce wines that have a symphony of flavours through nurturing and respecting the soils and environment of the vineyard. All our Methode Traditionelle wines are bottled onsite and aged on yeast lees for at least 18 months, then hand riddled and disgorged at the winery estate.
We are considered Central Otago’s premium sparkling wine producer. Pinot Noir is Central Otago’s most recognised variety. The Bendigo sub region is producing an elegant, structured style that is winning international accolades. Quartz Reef has the oldest Pinot Noir vines in this region and the wines have structure, texture and are beguiling with their wonderful flavours.
