This year Locals Weekend will coincide with the Department of Conservation’s 50th Anniversary of National Conservation Week. With NZ Tourism Sustainability Commitment in mind, our goal this year is to give a little back to the local host communities of Central Otago.
Event: Clutha River Mata-Au Clean Up
Date: Saturday 21 September
Time: 9am to 12pm
The Clutha River Mata-Au is a significant aspect of Central Otago linking our region together. Be it running past the town, through a dam, or being fed by supplementary rivers from across Central Otago, the Clutha River Mata-Au touches us all in some way.
We are reaching out to all our local tourism operators to come together for this event and show our community that we care for our environment.
Can you, or your staff, spare a few hours on the morning of Saturday 21 September to help preserve this slice of paradise?
If so, please bring along a rubbish bag (or two) and take a stroll along the banks of this beautiful waterway, or its sister rivers of our region, ready to pick up anything that does not belong there.
Event: Locals Weekend
Date: Saturday 21 September & Sunday 22 September
We will again be promoting the “Mates Rates” deals over this weekend. The goal is to encourage our locals, and regional neighbours from across Otago and Southland, to come and and enjoy this unique opportunity to experience these awesome Central Otago products.
Maintaining the sustainability focus, donation collection points will be available at each business involved, with funds raised going to conservation and ecological initiatives specific to Central Otago.
A big thank you to operators providing this years special deals - you are awesome!
Advertising will commence shortly. For further information please contact your nearest i-SITE on 03 262 7999 or email@example.com
